World Health Organization
The Cholera Outbreak in Yemen
The World Health Organization (WHO) deals with issues such as epidemics control, drug standardization and even quarantine measures with the objective to promote the attainment of “the highest possible level of health” by everyone in the planet.
In this committee’s session, delegates will deal with the "Cholera Outbreak in Yemen". Cholera is an acute diarrheal infection caused by ingestion of food or water contaminated with the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. Cholera remains a global threat to public health and an indicator of inequity and lack of social development. The outbreak has affected 22 of the 23 governorates and 293 of the 333 districts of Yemen.
