The Republic of Poland:

For many years now the Republic of Poland has been been involved in the Arctic through its research. Not to mention that the Republic of Poland has an observer status in the Arctic Council since 1998. Which allows us to contribute to the Arctic Council through meeting attendance, providing scientific expertise to Working Groups, project proposals and financial contribution.

For years now, the Republic of Poland has been present during different Arctic council activities and meetings, and we have attempted to work in as many different working groups. Not long ago, polish experts have been participating and working towards the Protection of the Arctic Marine Environment (PAME) Working Group and the Conservation of Arctic Flora…

The Kingdom of Sweden:

Being one of the eight States involved in the possession of the Arctic Territory and its respective resources, the Kingdom of Sweden acknowledges the responsibility we have as a nation to ensure the protection of such valuable land. We believe in sustainable development and scientific research as the best solutions we can pose for the consequences carried onto us by our own actions. This has been demonstrated many times, for example: In the establishment of the Arctic Council in 1996, of which Canada is a founding member, serves as a testament to our commitment to international cooperation in the region. Through this forum, we have actively engaged in discussions related to environmental protection, sustainable development, and indigenous rights in the Arctic. We have recognized always the importance it holds for the world both politically and…

Estonia

“Respecting the privileged position of Arctic States, Estonia strongly believes that Arctic cooperation is about inclusivity and diversity – only this way can we reach good solutions that resonate globally.” – President Alar Karis

Estonia as part of the European Union, the main priority is to make a change and advance in sustainable developments in the arctic. Since the damage in the arctic is caused by fossil fuels, the main goal as an international community is to make solutions for global warming and its effects in the preservation of the arctic. The main reason why Estonia has made this a priority, is because of the decreasing amount of consumption in the country. Estonia is the 91th country in the ranking…

"You know how they say, 'What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas?' What happens in the Arctic doesn't stay in the Arctic." - Kumi Naidoo

The Arctic, known for its immense natural resources like oil, gas, and minerals, holds high importance. As the Arctic ice melts, it creates new shipping routes such as the Northern Sea Route, offering faster and more cost-effective trade between Asia and Europe. The region's significant fisheries and unique environment make it important for both economic and scientific reasons. Since the Arctic is positioned between North America, Europe, and Asia, the Arctic's geopolitical location adds to its global significance. The ongoing environmental changes, including ice retreats, have led to…
